The R and D laboratory within Firmenich food manufacturing plant required a tasting
room to negate the site contaminates, odours and airborne impurities to enable staff
to be uninfluenced whilst tasting/developing products.
Project Brief
Ambient was tasked to design a HVAC system that provides adequate filtration
levels to negate the influence of multiple airborne contamination from the
surrounding food productions areas.
Solution
Ambient provided an HVAC system to supply finely filtered (decontaminated) air to
and from the tasting room.
(Employing active carbon technology that does not rely on the standard contact time)
the system provided positive pressurisation to the room (to avoid infiltration of
contaminants) whilst providing air change, climate control and heat recovery to
reduce energy in line with Firmenich energy / ROI policy.
The system met all performance standards and to date, 3 years later, no
replacement carbon filter has been required.
