Ambient was successful in winning the competitive tender for the HVAC
refurbishment work as part of the centre 2015/16 overhaul for Durham county
council.
Project Brief
As part of a facility refurbishment project the existing ventilation system required
modification/re balancing to support a change of use in the facility and additional
cafe extraction. (Canopy and fire resistant services.)
In addition a number of existing, redundant AC systems required removing and
replacing with a centralised, high efficiency heat recovery VRF system. (Complete
with air distribution.)
A new extension to the facility required roof top air handling, distribution and controls
along with VRF Comfort cooling/ heating.
Solution
Ambient provided reconfiguration of the existing ventilation.
Supplied and installed a Mitsubishi VRF system throughout the facility within the
phased coordinated fit out.
A heat recovery roof top air handler and assisted services were mobilised into
position, installed and commissioned successfully, meeting the design requirement
of the consulting engineers, within the time limitation of the project and to the
satisfaction of Durham County Council.
We then went on to win the Newton Aycliffe fit out the following year.
